Sedation Dentistry FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

You & Your Dental Well-Being

Concierge Smile Boutique is dedicated to giving patients the best treatment to meet their specific needs. In some cases, if severe dental phobia or dentist visit anxiety exists, we may recommend the use of Sedation Dentistry. For answers to commonly asked questions about Sedation Dentistry, please read below.

Why Choose Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation Dentistry is the simple, painless answer to dental anxiety. If you have any degree of fear about visits to the dentist or dental treatment, Sedation Dentistry gives you a way to relax and have a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout both.

How long has Sedation Dentistry been around?

Dentists have been using various Sedation Dentistry techniques to calm and comfort their patients for more than 30 years.

Will I feel any pain during the treatment, or afterward?

No. Most patients feel no pain during the treatment. However, depending on your treatment, you may have soreness, swelling or slight pain after. Pain medications may be recommended depending on the severity of your treatment.

How aware will I be during my dental treatment?

The amount of sedation given is just enough to make you completely unaware of the treatment you are undergoing. It will feel as if you are asleep.

Will I remember anything afterward?

No. You will have little to no memory of your dental treatment.

How groggy will I be after the treatment?

Normally there is little to no grogginess afterward. However, for your safety, we do still require that you have someone else (friend, family member, etc.) drive you home

Is Sedation Dentistry Safe?

Yes. Beforehand we review your medical history just to be sure, and we monitor you very closely the entire time you are under sedation.

What should I bring to my Sedation Dentistry appointment?

You may bring anything that makes you feel more comfortable or secure; however, we do already provide certain comfort amenities for you such as blankets and pillows. Please bring any emergency medications you are taking (such as asthma inhalers). Also, as mentioned, please bring a companion to drive you home after the appointment.

How do I schedule a Sedation Dentistry appointment?
