Root Canal Avoidance on Deep Decay of Non-Coalesced Fissures

How would you treat this?

The joy of dentistry…one tooth at a time!

This patient presented with a large cavity formed in the depths of the tooth grooves. During the development of teeth, the grooves coalesce or seal together. Sometimes, however, these fissures do not coalesce. The depths of these grooves are left with a micro-space that eventually leads to decay.

Through the application of advanced biomimetic principles, high magnification under a dental operating microscope, airborne particle abrasion techniques, time & patience, we were able to successfully remove all infected tooth structure without violating the tooth nerve. In this fashion, the tooth was successfully saved from having a root canal as would be typical with traditional dentistry.
